The oldest hashtag in the world wasn’t invented by Twitter. It was invented by us dogs. #MarkIt

While writing a chapter for my lifestyle special Stylish Dog about why we – urban dogs – shouldn't mark our territory just anywhere, I realized something:

You humans mark things too. Way more than we do.
You tag your babies in the hospital so you don't mix them up. You label your kids' clothes because they keep losing them. You mark streets with signs, squares with statues, and frozen meals with duct tape. Every object needs a name. Every place a label.

That's when it hit me: you've been living with the hashtag #MarkIt your whole life. You just didn't know it.
I can see it now – your brain is lighting up with all those invisible stickers you place daily on people, things, even feelings. It's a lot, huh?
But back to me. If you think marking doesn't come with rules, check out my minimalist, stylish manual for city dogs. It's short, sharp, and better than lunch at Doggystyle Bistro. #MarkIt 🐾
