I can't stop thinking about it. How on earth did one of us — a furry one — make it into the audience at one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, Roland Garros in Paris? And no one kicked him out.
From now on, I have no doubt: Paris is a city that truly loves dogs. But still — this fellow must have mastered several of the situations I describe in my city dog manual.
It's not just about "sit" and "stay." It's the perfect harmony between a dog and their human, who needs to be two steps ahead. Entering the venue, avoiding territory marking, hundreds of people with delicious-smelling food... So many temptations a dog would normally fall for — unless their human reads the room, leads the way, and the dog follows through.
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it. But here we are — it is possible to do it with style and tennis-level elegance. Too bad Copenhagen doesn't treat dogs this way.
